A Week in Galveston

A Galveston office tower stands on stilts to survive storms.

Mary and I spent a week at a timeshare in Galveston, an interesting town with much to see. The boat below has triple 350 horsepower engines that propel the trawler to 62 mph, enabling the owner to wake up later and still reach the fish while they’re still biting. The trophy yacht pictured below the trawler reminded us of our stay a few years ago at the Costa Baja Marina in La Paz, Baja California Sur.

The Peanut Butter Warehouse pictured below the trophy yacht reminded me of the Schrafft’s Candies Building in Charlestown where I worked long ago on accounting software for the Macintosh.
